Cette œuvre de Half Moon Woman - Pat Bruderer s'appelle « Sharing a Story » et a été créée à l'origine sous la forme d'une morsure d'écorce de bouleau, une forme très ancienne d'art autochtone où l'artiste utilise ses dents pour mordre un motif dans une seule couche d'écorce de bouleau. . La tradition de transmettre des histoires d'une génération à l'autre sur la vie, les valeurs, la création et le monde naturel est profondément ancrée dans la culture autochtone, et cette pièce représente cette tradition qui se poursuit aujourd'hui. Pendant la colonisation, de nombreuses langues et histoires ont été complètement perdues, car beaucoup n’ont jamais été écrites. Cette pièce nous rappelle à quel point les langues peuvent être sacrées, car lorsqu'une d'entre elles disparaît, nous perdons bien plus que de simples mots.

For cotton wraps, wash in cold water with like colors and then hang to dry. Iron on low heat if needed.
For polyester and silk wraps, hand wash in cold water, hang to dry.

Our small wraps measure 18" or 50 cm. square and are perfect for wrapping gifts that are the size of a jewellery box up to a tissue box size.
Our medium wraps measure 28" or 71 cm. square and are a good size to wrap gifts around the size of a shoe box, wrap a bouquet of flowers or wrap a wine bottle.
Our large wraps measure 35" or 90 cm. square and are great for larger gifts or even reusing as a grocery bag or purse.
Our extra large wraps measure 50" or 130 cm. square and are big enough for wrapping large oddly shaped items and even reuse as a picnic blanket.
